Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempeth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. -James 1:12-15
When you endure in temptations you are considered Blessed in the eyes of God, endure means to suffer patiently and when you’re suffering during a temptation because temptations come in different forms. Whether it be a persecution, a desire you know is not right to give into, things from your past that you have been delivered from but is presenting itself to you. But we see here that when you endure temptation you shall receive the crown of life, which is a everlasting crown. Whenever you are tempted it is not from God because he cannot tempt you with evil, he does not tempt any man, but as we see in the scripture that whenever we are tempted it is due to us being driven away by our own lust which brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death. This is why we are to deal with our lust, the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of this life which comes to rob, kill and destroy. The Bible lets us know that “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”-Romans 6:23. All temptation if you do not resist leads you into sin and death but the Lord will keep you and lead and guide you but if you do not listen to his leading you will fall prey to the wiles of the devil.
Whenever you feel weak during being tempted it is a wise thing to remove yourself from such a situation and cry out to the Lord. Seek the Lord in prayer and let him know what you are facing how whatever is coming up against you is to strong for you to bare. This is when you get transparent with the Father in the name of Jesus asking him to deliver you out from it or keep your foot from slipping. You need his strength and power to keep you away from temptations you yourself cannot keep you from the temptations that the devil will bring your way. If you try to do these things in your own strenght and power you will fall prey to the schemes of the devil. In the Lords prayer that Jesus Christ taught us in Matthew 6:13 is “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.“. Which means us asking God to keep us from making bad choices and desicions and to keep us from all evil, because it is all around us we cannot run and hide from it but resist, reject, rebuke it and choose to make the right, wise decisions to walk uprighlty following Jesus Christ.
Temptations are all around us and if you cannot stand firm, boldly and resist and submit yourself unto God. You need to be delivered and get closer to God drawing closer to him getting to know him. Reading his word so that you can know how to truly overcome, the revelation of the word of God will keep you from a lot. Psalm 119:10-12 shows us a great example “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.“. The priest said that he hid the word of God in his heart so that they may not sin against God. The word of God keeps you from sinning, when you read the word of God it is being written in your heart. When temptation, sin, evil presents itsself in your life the word of God will rise up in you as a memory to keep you from sinning against God. You can even use Psalm 119:10-12 as a prayer point and go deep in prayer with this Psalm so that you can ask the Lord to write his word in the tablets of your heart, so that you can meditate on it day and night so that you may not sin against him. If we go down a little further in Psalm 119:105 it says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.“. The word of God will literally illuminate your path because it is the light of God “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” -1 John 1:5.
Beloved God is calling you to dive into his word he wants you to go deeper in him, This is your time and moment. Do not delay any further, he wants to bring you up and out of all that it is you are in. He wants to write his word in the tablets of your heart so that you will not lean unto your own understanding which is feeble and is leading you into all manner of confusion and destruction. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” -Proverbs 3:5-6. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways.”-Isaiah 55:8-9. The only way you will get access to Gods thoughts and ways are through Jesus Christ and the reading, meditation and revelation of his word. There is no shortcut or way around it, it is a great disadvantage to yourself to just ignore the call of God when he has extended Grace, Mercy and Strength for you to pursue him diligently. This is not something that happens on your own doing or strength but by the power of God. Through the Holy Spirit and his only begotten son Jesus Christ, whom he gave to us freely because he loved the world so much his creation. It is not by might, not by power, but by Gods Holy Spirit as he told Zerubbabel in Zechariah 4:6. In our own might and power we wouldn’t truly be able to pursue after God because the devil will not allow us.
God allowing us access into his Kingdom is an honor because it means he has chosen you to be his representative on this earth. Not for you to boast and put others down because he has forgiven you of your sins and set you free. But to be an example and to use your influence to bring other people to him so that they can be reconciled back to him through Jesus Christ, through repentance, through salvation and being born again. He is and wants to use you to be his foot solider on this earth and his mouth peice so that others can be redeemed. You can overcome every temptation that you are facing you do not have to succumb to temptation and the power to do this is by having a relationship with God and fellowshipping with him. Without doing so it will be impossible to please him because this all takes Faith and the word of God lets us know in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.“. Jame 2:26 reminds us that “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.“. I pray that the Father will increase your Faith and help your unbelief in Jesus name. If you can have Faith as a grain of a mustard seed as when the Jesus told the disciples about moving mountains. If you use your Faith as well the mountain of stagnation, temptations, and evil ETC in your life will be removed and you will be a overcomer and more than a conqueror Beloved. God Bless you in Jesus name Shalom
