For even while we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. Indeed, we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined and inappropriate life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies [meddling in other people’s business]. Now such people we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work quietly and earn their own food and other necessities [supporting themselves instead of depending on the hospitality of others]. -2 Thessalonians 3:10-12
As a believer God has given us all that we need to be successful and to work with our hands. Here we see in the text in 2 Thessalonians how the Apostle Paul was admonishing the church of Thessalonians, to those who were disorderly. Not working is you being disorderly you are going against the will of God. God has given us the power to create wealth, through his Holy Spirit. You being idle is a reproach because God has given you everything you need through Jesus Christ to do all that you have to do to. When you are idle you give place to the devil where he now has a foothold into your life to rob, kill and destroy. I do get it that there may be opposition when you are trying to get out there to get a job and work but you must seek God in prayer asking him for favor. If you are not willing to work and do what you have to do the Bible lets us know that you and I are not to eat.
When we are teens, young adults, adults and reach the age to work, we are to put out the effort to go out there and labor with diligence. This is part of our service in the Lord because we are serving others not ourselves. We are also around people who God has placed us around so that we can reach them and tell them about Jesus Christ if we are given the opportunity through leading of the Holy Spirit. Some people we must meet so that we can intercede for them in secret and show them the Love of God openly. While we work then we make our money to do whatever it is we have to do, If you are a business person this will be what you need to fund your business until God Blesses it where you do it fulltime. God did not create us to be a beggar, there is a spirit of the beggar. First the Lord calls us to serve, As Jesus Christ went through persecutions we must as well and Beloved these persecutions will be in the workplace, in the city and in the field. The Bible lets us know though that we will be Blessed in the city and in the field, we will be favored. This doesn’t mean that we will be liked or accepted by everyone but because of the greater one living inside of us they will have to respect us and the divinity within us. All things will work together for the good of them that Love the Lord Jesus Christ.
“But acting as busybodies”, See this may not be done intentionally but because of us being idle and not lining up with the word of God it will happen, whether we like it or not. The devil will put thoughts in our minds and we’ll go through mental warfare. There will be times he will come appearing as a angel of light to deceive you into thinking it is God revealing to you certain things (this is where true discernment is needed). You begin to mettle in peoples lives, wondering, thinking, leaning unto your own understanding. Which is dangerous because you can be deceived easily and begin to believe the lies satan will feed you. Which will lead you into confusion and utter darkness and major distractions to deter you off of the path that God has truly intended for you life. Now you see in verse 12 I command and exhort you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to settle down, mind your own business, and work quietly so that you may lack nothing. Watch your life change and turn drastically for the better in Jesus name.
Repent for your idleness, meddling, minding others business, believing the lies of satan. If there are things psychologically that are keeping you from working its time to get your deliverance. If there are things preventing you from working due to physical issues its time to receive your healing and deliverance in Jesus Christ name. For you with physical ailments God will have mercy and compassion as you are being made whole. There are at home jobs that many lazy people have taken who are well equipped to work in person but in the name of Jesus may you be employed and not be scammed in Jesus name. If you are lacking the Holy Spirit it is time for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit because it is not by might, not by power but by the Holy Spirit of God in Jesus name. Ask the Lord to show you where you believed in the lie that put you into the bondage you are in and breaking out of. So that you will not fall back into the trickery. Repent of your pride and sense of entitlement in Jesus name. Christ has made it all possible for us to do what is necessary for us to be provided for here in this world. Even supernaturally, his powerful blood, prayer, healing, deliverance, restoration, As you receive this message, repent and amend your ways restoration, deliverance, healing begins in the name of Jesus Christ.
Oh yes and when you get your job do not forget to pay your tithe do not get caught robbing God because there is surely a curse attatched to it. As written in Malachi 3:6-12 “For I am the Lord, I do not change [but remain faithful to My covenant with you]; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, have not come to an end. “Yet from the days of your fathers you have turned away from My statutes and ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’. “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings [you have withheld]. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, this whole nation! Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessing until there is no more room to receive it. Then I will rebuke the devourer (insects, plague) for your sake and he will not destroy the fruits of the ground, nor will your vine in the field drop its grapes [before harvest],” says the Lord of hosts. “All nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight,” says the Lord of hosts. “
