Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations. -Psalm 100:4-5
This is how we are to enter into the presence of God with thanksgiving and praise. We are not to come to the Lord God Almighty with murmur, complaints, and a bucket list of problem wants and needs. We are to honor our Lord with reverence and respect. Not out of obligation but because it is all due unto him for all of the mighty things he has, is and will do in our lives.
It is not our doing that we are saved it is all the doing of the Lord Jesus Christ. Who came and got us in our sin sick state while we were polluted in our own blood and being consumed in our flesh. He came and delivered us, the Father drew us closer to Jesus and Jesus Christ delivered us. I don’t know about you but just thinking about that alone daily gives me a lot to be thankful for and to praise him.
Not only that but just everything that he does is worthy of all the praise, honor and adoration. If you cannot give thanks and praise to the King of Kings the Lord of Lords the Ancient of days. What makes you think he will give you more if you are ungrateful for what you already have and what he has done for you?.
He has protected you, loved you unconditionally, he has given you love, power and a sound mind, he has fought all of your battles seen and unseen. He has kept you and delivered you in the hour of temptation. He has opened doors that you never imagined would open. He has shut doors and delivered you out your destructive ways when you thought it wouldn’t happen. He showed up and revealed to you with man it is impossible with God all things are possible.
There are so many reasons to give thanks and praise, we all have personal deeep personal things that is between us and God to give him thanks and praise for. Praise and worship provokes God to do the unimaginable, when you praise him you are honoring him. As you praise and give thanks you will notice your hunger and thirst for more of him, his presence and the word will be in your heart.
Thanksgiving and praise unlock so many things not only materially thanks be to God for the material. I would like to touch on the things no one can see. Such as peace, joy, love, deliverance, wholeness, healing, deeper and more intimate relationship and walk with the Lord. Your whole heart posture will change and it will begin to manifest outward. So don’t just go on praising God for what you can get but because of who he is. He is worthy of all the praise, Glory and Honor.
You can even praise and thank him with how you live your life. You do this acknowledging that it is only because of him that the life you now live is possible. It’s only the Lord Jesus Christ who made it all possible when he redeemed you by his Blood. He died over 2000 years ago gave up his life ransom and went through this life sinless and endured everything you could imagine for us. He says do not fear because he has overcome the world. Greater is he who is within you than he who is in this fallen world.
Jesus Christ fulfilled the will of God for us. John 3:16 declares for God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whomsoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. I personally thank God right now for his mercy and Grace which keeps me. Due to his mercy and Grace that found me dead in my sins and trespasses, I have been forgiven and I am here today 6 years later saved born again filled with the Holy Spirit with no desire to go back to anything of my past. All I want is more of the Father more of Jesus Christ and to overflow in the Holy Spirit of God. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise and spend time there don’t rush into your petitions and supplications. Shalom.
