Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:13-14

In life we go through situations and we have to understand that God wants us to overcome these things. He wants to heal us and make us whole so that we can move on and overcome many things reaching forth unto those things which are before. When we choose not to overcome and be all that God has called us to be we stagnate ourselves looking behind. For whatever reason we may be hesitant to let go of certain things and cleave unto God. Maybe because you may not want to revisit the pass but you rather leave it and not heal from it. If you do not revisit the pass and heal from it you will revisit it on a daily basis on your job, at home, with friends, and people in general.

The only way you can truly forget those things that are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before are by allowing Jesus to heal you and make you whole. By dealing with whatever the matter may be, if you run away from deliverance you will constantly be reminded of the very thing the Lord will remind you to forget about and move forward. In the Process he gets down to the root of the matter and sets you free from the root so that you can completely leave the past behind and press towards the mark of the high calling in Jesus Christ. He calls us to forget those things which are behind as we are admonished by Apostle Paul in the text.

This is exhortation and direction so that we can be unblocked and delayed no further in our walk with Christ. When we don’t forget those things that are behind it will be in our present whether we believe it or not. This is what occurs when matters haven’t been dealt with and lessons haven’t been learned for our maturity in Christ. These are all hinderances which lead to stagnation in our walk with Jesus Christ. This is all done through a relationship with the Lord in prayer and supplication the Bible lets us know in Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Ask him for help in these area’s to heal your soul and to deliver you from the past, ask Holy Spirit to renew your mind in Jesus name. Ask the Lord to purify your heart, to help you to overcome those situations in the past that the devil will attempt to use against you through condemnation to deter you. He will do it for you, but as long as you continue to neglect these areas of your life for whatever reason you will find it difficult to reach unto those things that are before you. Which are all the things that God has in store for you, The Lord is so amazing that he will withhold certain things until you are ready for them. Why you may ask, so that you do not mess it up, also because he see’s you are not ready for what you desire because there is unfinished business that you must deal with. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal these things that you unknowingly may be not dealing with. If you know what it is, now is the time to deal with it and bring it before the Lord in the name of Jesus.

When you allow the Lord to deliver, heal and make you whole, you gain an advantage over the devil and his wicked spirits. They cannot rob kill and destroy from you because you are no longer ignorant of their devices. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.-Hosea 4:6. Through the process the Lord wants to bestow upon you wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As you see in the scripture in Hosea 4:6 he says because you have rejected knowledge he will also reject you that you shall be no priest unto him. Like I said earlier he will keep back things from you through rejection in order to protect you. Don’t blame the devil for your lack of obedience to God, you put yourself at a disadvantage when you stay away from what the Lord wants to do in you and through you deliverance and healing is a major part of it beloved.

The Lord is always waiting for you to repent and turn to him and to begin the process. As Apostle Paul said forgetting those things which are behind and looking forward towards the things that are before I pray that after reading this you will begin to do the same. That you will press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. Press in the bible means to urge forward with force, you got to press through the resistance you feel that makes you not want to do the work here’s a nugget: the resistance are unclean spirits trying to keep you bound. The Bible lets us know that Faith without works is dead and without Faith it is impossible to please God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. -Hebrews 11:6. Blessings Shalom.
