Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. -Matthew 5:14-16

This is when Jesus was teaching the sermon on the mount, He was teaching his disciples and a large group of listeners. Right now he is speaking to you Beloved, you are the light of the world and he wants you to let your light to shine before man. You cannot hide because, if you do you isolate yourself when the Lord has not isolated you, but you yourself have. When you isolate yourself depression comes upon you as a result because you are dimming the light of God which is within you. There are many reasons one may do this to name some are Fear, Pride, Unhealed wounds, Insecurity. You must take it upon yourself so overcome these very things, bring it before the Lord in prayer ask him to grant you more boldness and courage to stand firm. It is imperative to feast on the Word of God which is our daily bread so you can be encouraged and hear what it is clearly what the Lord is conveying to you.

God has not brough you out of the darkness to hide, dim your light or isolate yourself but to trust in him and believe that he will be with you in and through all. Even when it may seem as if the enemy is rising against you or he is using people to come against you. I have good news for you that he will not prevail the word of God lets us know that “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” – Isaiah 54:17. This is the very heritage of the servants of the Lord, Lukewarmness is a very dangerous thing and God admonishes us not to allow ourselves to get in this state of being. This is when the very things that hinder us rise up because we are not hot, we are not in the presence of the Lord, in prayer, fasting, reading our word, we are instead distracted with the cares of the world. Jesus Christ is Top priority Beloved everything comes after, he will redeem the time and even grant you favor in whatever you sacrificed to seek first his Kingdom.

Wherever you are, be it in your neighborhood, church, workplace, wherever you have to go to run errands or just live life (shop, walk, store, see family) Ye are the light of the world. You cannot be hidden you must allow the light of God to shine and not dim it for anybody or anything because do dim it means you are silencing the Spirit of God grieving him which the word of God lets us know not to do. You are God’s mouthpiece and he has called you out for such a time as this to sound the alarm or to convey a message to someone or even encourage them or even Bless them with the Love of God, Even to allow God to be glorified through you with his presence. Us as believers carry the very presence of God and we cannot hinder him from moving through us, there are consequences. This is the very reason why one may become fearful, depressed, heavy, irritable, miserable, angry, ETC the works of the flesh becomes more evident because you quenched the Holy Spirit. Repent, be encouraged, Faith cometh by hearing and by hearing the word of God, Listen to a sermon, read the word of God, play some worship music, rebuke that lying hindering spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.

When God has a mandate on our life the devil will do everything he can to make you loose sight of your identity in Christ. It is your duty to be sober and vigilant of the scheme’s and agenda of Satan and how he operates so you do not fall prey to the wiles of the devil. Pick up your sword and fight do not be a lazy sluggard which the Lord detest. “You are Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” -Romans 8:37. Put on the full armor of God, You have to also understand what exactly each part of the full armor of God is so that you will not put it on ignorantly. When you put on the full armor of God ignorantly you are just praying a vain prayer because you heard someone else say it. Learn about the full armor of God, The full armor of God is your protection against the adversary the devil and his agents (footmen). Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Shine bright with confidence in who you are in Christ I said confidence not arrogance, persecution will come but the Lord has equipped you and I for this so we can stand firm and not be moved nor shaken. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. -2 Timothy 3:12.

Jesus Christ went through it and we read through it all in scripture and he laid the foundation for us to stand on. So that we can be empowered and prepared for the spiritual warfare and persecutions that will come our ways. There is this wonderful encouragement in the word of God that lets us know. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. -James 1:2-4. Count it all joy the very trying of your Faith is working patience in you, Where you have no patience or tolerance which is why your trying to dim your light. The very test and trials that seem trivial to you are the trying of your Faith so that your patience and tolerance can grow so you can continuously grow and be able to handle certain situations and circumstances. The Lord has a way of preparing us, maturing us and it is great when you learn to embrace the process and it is very humbling to deliver us out of pride and destruction. When you dim your light you are headed into the wrong direction which is destruction. Before you know it the very thing that is making you dim your light, run, isolate will no longer be so and you will be standing stronger than ever before conquering and being a representative of the Kingdom of God. Allowing the Lord God Almighty to be Glorified through you, People will come to know who the Lord is through you.
